Netherlands Salary After Tax Calculator 2026

Estimate employee take-home pay with a country-specific breakdown of modeled income tax and statutory employee deductions. This calculator uses the effective-dated profile and assumptions shown below.

Current modeled profile: Employment income · documented AOW branch · 2026 Box 1 · employment (annual-liability)

Netherlands: Estimate employee take-home pay under the documented 2026 Box 1 · employment profile.

Modeled as additional employment income under this country profile. Payment-period withholding can differ.

How this calculation works

Annual liability: estimates annual income-tax and statutory social liability from total annual employment income.

The calculator applies profile nl-2026-box1-employment (version 2026.1), lists each modeled deduction separately, and subtracts those deductions from gross annual pay. Monthly and weekly values are annual estimates divided by 12 and 52.

What changed this tax year?

This page uses only the current, reviewed 2026 Box 1 · employment profile shown above. Formulexa does not silently reuse current rules for a previous-year comparison: a numerical year-over-year result will appear only after a separate archived profile and regression fixtures have been verified for this exact modeled scope.

Check the official sources below for enacted rule changes outside this calculator's documented assumptions and exclusions.

Assumptions

  • Any entered holiday allowance, bonus or commission is treated as additional annual taxable employment income and must not already be included in base pay.
  • All income is Dutch Box 1 employment income from one job.
  • General and employment credits are limited to tax otherwise due.

Not included

  • The in-year AOW transition (reaching AOW age during 2026), Box 2/3 income, the 30% ruling, fiscal partner rules and itemized deductions are excluded.

Current rates and country-specific rules

  • 2026 Box 1 uses three bands at 35.75%, 37.56% and 49.5% for employees under AOW age.
  • A full-year AOW recipient uses the lower 17.85% first-band rate and AOW-specific credit formulas.
  • The general and employment tax credits taper under separate official formulas and cannot reduce modeled tax below zero.

Worked example

At EUR 80,000 employment income, the adapter applies all three Box 1 bands before subtracting the income-dependent general and employment tax credits.

Frequently asked questions

Does this include the 30% ruling?

No. The 30% ruling is excluded because eligibility and the taxable basis require additional inputs.

What if I reach AOW age during 2026?

The official first-band rate then depends on the month. V1 supports only under-AOW all year or AOW for the full year.
