Direct answer

A Canadian take-home estimate needs federal tax, the employee's province or territory, CPP or QPP, and Employment Insurance. Formulexa's released profile is specifically Ontario claim code 1, not a province-neutral formula.

Why province matters

Ontario has its own brackets, credits, surtax, tax reduction and health premium. Quebec uses QPP and separate rules. Treating unsupported provinces as zero tax would produce a misleading result, so they are not selectable in the current profile.

CPP, the additional CPP component, CPP2 and EI each have their own pensionable or insurable bases, rates and annual maximums.

2026 calculator scope

The model assumes one Ontario employer, CPP and EI eligibility, and basic claim-code-1 credits. RRSP contributions, dependants, benefits and interprovincial cases require more data and remain excluded.
